Short answer
What does the service include?
Papyrn uses a writing machine holding a real pen to write messages on greeting cards. Each card can carry its own name or wording. With an available ready-printed card, the service can start at 50 cards. If the card itself must be newly custom printed, the planning minimum is 200 cards. Papyrn supplies the finished written cards; inserting them into product boxes or mailing them to individual end customers is not included.
Real pen, machine-guided writing
The writing head moves a pen over the card, so the message is physically laid down in ink. This differs from printing a handwriting-style font as part of the artwork, and from hiring a person to handwrite every card. We describe the method openly so buyers know what they are approving.
Paper surface, pen, message length, and the available writing area affect the result. Approve a sample made with the intended card and wording before a larger run. The footage below shows the writing step, not a guarantee that every design will look identical.

Choose one of two card routes
Select from Papyrn's available greeting cards and add a real-pen message. This route can start at 50 cards. Confirm the current designs, writing space, and suitability for your occasion.
Print a card with your own artwork, then add the written message as a separate step. This route starts at 200 cards. Share the size, artwork, paper, finish, print sides, and the area reserved for writing.
The 50-card writing minimum does not apply to a newly printed custom card. Prices and schedules depend on the actual card and text. For ordinary printed inserts without machine writing, see our product insert card guide.
Can the message change from card to card?
Yes. A batch does not have to repeat one sentence. You can provide a different name, short greeting, or full message for each card. This can suit gift orders, seasonal greetings, event invitations, and personal thank-you notes. The value is in a relevant, accurate message, not a claim that the founder personally wrote every card.
Prepare one clear record per card with an identifier, exact wording, and any variable name or sign-off. Check spelling, punctuation, language, and record order before production. Keep text within the approved writing area; a long message may need a different card size or layout. Share only the personal details needed to make the cards, and agree on sorting and labeling.
Write a note that belongs in the package
For a gift order, the sender's short message may matter more than a long brand paragraph. For a thank-you insert, a specific appreciation line and useful support route may be enough. Test the copy at actual card size and leave space around the writing, away from folds and printed artwork.
If you also need a QR code, care instructions, or logo, plan those as printed elements where appropriate; let the pen-written part stay readable. Our card and sticker comparison can help decide which message belongs on the card and which belongs elsewhere.
From approved copy to finished cards
A practical ordering sequence
- Choose an available ready-printed card or provide artwork for a newly custom-printed card.
- Send quantity, exact message or per-card message list, writing area, and destination.
- Review a physical writing sample, including long names, punctuation, and layout.
- Approve the final card, message records, sorting, and delivery details.
- Receive the finished cards and arrange insertion or onward fulfillment with your own team.
We deliver completed written cards, not a direct-to-recipient mailing service. If another factory or fulfillment center must insert them into product boxes, plan that work separately; do not assume it is included in the card quote.
What to send for a useful quote
Tell Papyrn whether you want an available ready-printed card or a new custom print. Include quantity, card size if specified, design or artwork, number and length of messages, whether each card needs different text, preferred language, target date, delivery country and postal code, and sample expectations. Ask what is included in production, sorting, packing, and freight.
The cards can be discussed alongside other packaging products, but they are delivered as cards rather than inserted into each end-customer box. See Papyrn's card and sticker range for related printed products.
Published October 16, 2026. The 50-card and 200-card quantities are planning minimums for the two routes, not fixed prices, lead times, card sizes, or guaranteed availability. Final terms depend on card selection, artwork, message data, sample approval, and delivery. The video shows machine writing with a real pen, not individual handwriting by a person.
FAQ
Real-pen greeting card questions
Are these greeting cards handwritten by a person?
No. A writing machine guides a real pen across each card. The words are physically written in ink, but we do not describe them as individually handwritten by a person.
Can every card have a different name or message?
Yes. Papyrn can personalize cards one by one. Supply the exact text for each card and approve a sample and the final message list before production.
What is the minimum order with ready-printed greeting cards?
Using Papyrn's available ready-printed greeting cards, real-pen writing can start at 50 cards. Confirm the available designs and writing area for your order.
What if the card itself needs new custom printing?
A newly custom-printed greeting card with the writing service starts at 200 cards. Card printing and pen writing are separate production steps, so ask for a quote for the complete specification.
Will Papyrn put the cards into my product boxes or mail them to individual buyers?
No. Papyrn supplies the finished written cards. Inserting them into product packaging or mailing them to individual end customers is not included.
Is the price or lead time fixed?
No. The card route, quantity, message length, variable text, artwork, sample needs, and delivery destination must be reviewed before price and timing are confirmed.
