Short answer
Which sticker format should you order?
Choose a multi-sticker sheet when the customer or packing team needs several peel-off designs on one backing sheet. Choose individual round seals when one sticker must close a mailer box opening or folded tissue wrap. Papyrn commonly discusses 148 x 210 mm (A5) multi-sticker sheets and 2.5 or 3.5 in round seals. Before comparing prices, confirm whether a supplier quotes per sheet, per individual sticker, or per packed set.
One sheet and one seal are different purchasing units
Sheet: several decorative, branding, or labeling stickers on one backing sheet. Seal: one applied closure or brand mark on a box or tissue fold.
Sheet: 148 x 210 mm (A5) with a layout to define. Seal: round, often 2.5 or 3.5 in across.
Sheet: confirm the number of sheets and stickers per sheet. Seal: confirm the number of individual seals, designs, and how they are supplied.
Sheet: can the buyer peel each design easily? Seal: can the packing team apply it consistently to the actual surface?
A sheet containing many stickers is not equivalent to the same number of individual seals. Ask for a layout proof with the sticker count and cut lines, then compare the cost for the number of orders you actually plan to pack. For the broader role of inserts and stickers, see the card, QR card, and sticker comparison.
Start with the surface: box opening or tissue wrap
A closure seal at a corrugated mailer opening must bridge the intended flap without covering an important shipping label, product warning, or tear feature. A tissue seal should hold the fold during packing but should not make the tissue tear excessively when the buyer opens it. A sticker that performs acceptably on one surface may behave differently on the other.
Before bulk production, test the actual printed sticker on the final kraft, coated board, or tissue. Apply it at the intended position, then check after normal handling and opening. Look for lifting edges, wrinkles, residue, tearing, and whether the design still reads after it crosses a fold. Material, adhesive, coating, temperature, and packing method need to be confirmed for the specific job; no stock sticker should be described as universally suitable.
Size from the package, not from the artwork alone
For a round seal, place a paper circle at the intended closure. A 2.5 in diameter can be more restrained on a small mailer or tissue fold; a 3.5 in diameter creates a larger visible mark but may cover more of the box or tear more tissue. Neither size is automatically better. Check the flap width, fold position, artwork legibility, and how much of the circle sits on each side of the seam.
For an A5 sheet, draw the final individual sticker outlines, gutters, and peel direction. The sheet size alone does not tell the factory how many stickers are on it. A sheet with small logos, large decorative designs, or mixed shapes has a different cutting and packing plan.
Why a 100-piece quote needs careful reading
Suitable sticker projects may start around 100 pieces, but the word “piece” is ambiguous until the format is set. Is it 100 A5 sheets, 100 individual round seals, or 100 packed sets containing several stickers? Confirm the unit and quantity per design in writing.
Very small runs may have a practical minimum charge, so a per-piece figure at 100 pieces should not be treated as a standard rate at 500 or 1,000 pieces. Size, material, printing, finish, cut shape, adhesive, number of designs, waste allowance, and packing all change the quotation. The approximately US$0.30 figure used for a basic 4 x 6 in card at 100 cards is a card reference, not a sticker price. Ask for product and freight to be shown separately.

- Quantity in stated units, number of designs, and quantities per design.
- Artwork, exact copy, print colors, and any special finish or writable area.
- Application surface and a photo of the actual box or tissue fold.
- How the stickers should be supplied: sheets, rolls, individual pieces, or packed with other packaging items.
- Delivery country and postal code, target date, and whether freight should be included.
Prepare vector artwork and cut-line information where possible. A preview PNG can explain the look, but it may not be sufficient as the final production file. The artwork guide explains file and proof checks. For a seal where adhesion matters, approve the physical application, not only a digital mockup.
Plan the complete packing step
Ask who will peel and place the sticker, how many are applied per order, and whether staff can find the right design quickly. A seal may be inexpensive as a printed item yet slow to apply if it is hard to peel or placed over a complex fold. If boxes, tissue, cards, and stickers are sourced together, confirm how each item is counted and packed so the warehouse does not receive an attractive but impractical set. Papyrn can discuss the full custom insert-card and sticker range with the packaging plan.

Final specifications and pricing depend on artwork, substrate, finish, quantity, packing, destination, and current production arrangements. Product-label rules require a separate check for the applicable market.
FAQ
Sticker sheets and closure seals
What is the difference between a sticker sheet and a round seal?
A sticker sheet is one backing sheet carrying several peel-off stickers. A round seal is an individual sticker used to close a mailer box or tissue wrap. Compare them by intended application and by the quoted unit: sheets, individual stickers, or packed sets.
What sizes does Papyrn commonly discuss for packaging stickers?
A common multi-sticker sheet is 148 x 210 mm (A5). Common round closure-seal diameters are 2.5 and 3.5 in. Other sizes can be reviewed against the packaging and artwork.
Can one sticker work on both a kraft box and tissue paper?
Do not assume so. Kraft board and thin tissue have different textures and handling needs. Test the proposed sticker on the final box or tissue after any printing or coating, including application, handling, opening, and removal.
Is the minimum order 100 sheets or 100 individual stickers?
Suitable sticker projects may start around 100 pieces, but a multi-sticker sheet and an individual seal are different ordering units. Confirm whether the quantity refers to sheets, individual stickers, or packed sets, and confirm the number of designs before accepting a quote.
How much do custom packaging stickers cost?
There is no reliable single unit price without the format, number of stickers per sheet, size, material, printing, finish, adhesive, quantity per design, and packing. A small 100-piece run can carry a practical minimum charge. Papyrn's US$0.30 reference for a basic 4 x 6 in card at 100 cards is not a sticker price.
What should I send for a sticker quote?
Send the intended use, finished size and shape, sheet layout or seal diameter, number of designs, quantity in clearly stated units, artwork, target application surface, preferred finish, packing requirements, and delivery address. A photo of the actual box or tissue wrap helps confirm the plan.
